Description, Title, Anchor (DTA) Explorer for Web Pages

What is DTA Explorer?

DTA Explorer is a Windows software to study the title, description and anchor text on your web pages. Use it to quickly check and make sure that title and description tags are present on all your important web pages and that they are not duplicated (why is this important?)

The software is very simple to learn and use. There really is no learning curve at all. You can also read the application notes to make effective use of the software.

DTA Explorer Screen Layout

DTA Explorer has two panels that contain lists. The top panel list displays all the URLs that have been analyzed along with the corresponding title and description tags.

The lower panel list displays all the URLS linked from the page highlighted in the top panel along with the corresponding the anchor texts. There is a third column called checked? that shows the status of each of the URL.

N - The page has not been analyzed yet
Y - The page is analyzed and the data is available.
U - Unknown (Java script, etc.), DTA Explorer will not process these links.
P - Protected URL (for example, a PPC advertisement). You will not be able to analyze these URLs
N [Ext] - The page has not been analyzed but it is a link to an external site
Y [Ext] - The page is analyzed and it is a link to an external site
E [nnn] - There was an error (error code nnn) while accessing the page.

Using the Software

Simply type in a URL into the top URL entry box and click Analyze. This will retrieve the URL, parse it's contents and display the title, description and anchor data for that page. Once you have the data for the page, you can analyze all the links within that page by simply clicking the Page button. To analyze only one page just double click on the row in the anchor data list.
